Favorite Horror Villain Poll Results

After many votes cast and what we’re sure took SECONDS of careful consideration by each of our readers, the results are in!

Freddy Krueger

3. Freddy Krueger

If you haven’t seen A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), then you probably thought the picture was of Deadpool’s uglier, older brother. The movie was considered one of the creepiest of its time, with a fedora-wearing villain that invades people’s dreams, chases them, and kills them with his razor sharp claws. Think Inside Out with less Joy, and more blood.

Believe it or not, we have some scarier peeps ahead…

Chestburster

2. Baby Xenomorph

This little cutie was a strong contender for favorite. In the film series, Alien, xenomorphs are an endoparasitoid species that antagonizes other life forms. The babies are called “chestbursters”. A hellish fetus, they steal the host’s nutrients and cells before ripping their way out. It’s a nice little anecdote you might want to save for when your parents call you ungrateful.

hannibal

1. Hannibal Lecter

The winner of our poll and the source of our trust issues is Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Okay, this guy deserved the spot. Dr. Lecter (that’s right, he has a PhD), also known as “Hannibal the Cannibal”, was a forensic psychiatrist convicted for being a serial killer who, yes, ate his victims. No big deal, he’s in prison, right? Well, he broke out, but not until he murdered and snacked on two armed security guards. Using the face of one of his victims, Lecter manages to escape in an ambulance and rewards himself with dessert. But what makes Hannibal Lecter such a terrifying and compelling villain, is his eloquence. It allows him to “conduct business” from inside a cell in the presence of law enforcement. Oh yeah, and the character is actually based on a real person.
