Panther Film Festival Returns for Year Two

We are thrilled to announce the return of the steadily growing Panther Film Festival!  Building on last year’s structure, this school year will feature a series of workshops and competitions to bring student filmmakers of all levels on board, culminating in the April festival screening.

Kick start the year with us next Thursday, September 13th at the first Panther Film Festival Meet & Greet of the semester!

Meet other aspiring filmmakers at Vicky Bakery in the Frost Museum between the hours of 3:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. Refreshments will be provided. Then, join us on September 18th for our first Screenwriting Workshop led by Charles Donate and local filmmaker/FIU alum Manuel Delgadillo. The workshop will be held at FIU’s Center for Excellence in Writing (first floor of the Green Library) from 2:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.

The deadline for completed scripts this year is Saturday, December 1st, 2018. To support your timely completion, we will be offering several writing workshop opportunities this semester. Max submission length this year is 15 minutes (recommended time, 3 – 10 min). The new run time standards and deadlines serve to challenge your skills and improve overall film quality.

We are calling upon you, our local filmmaking community, to meld your talent and passion into something new and exciting. Join us in our efforts to cultivate real working relationships and the filmmaking spirit here at FIU. We’re excited for a new year of Panther filmmaking and can’t wait to see what you come up with this year!
