In our last poll we asked you to vote for the most binge worthy shows to kick off the new year. Here are your results.
Although there were a number of strong contenders Atlanta came through with a landslide victory. The critically acclaimed comedy series was created by and stars Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino. The show follows two cousins as they attempt to find success in the Atlanta rap scene. Atlanta returns this year with their third season so it’s the perfect time to get caught up.
2. Sharp Objects
In second place you had Sharp Objects, a psychological thriller based on the debut novel of Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn. The miniseries follows an emotionally unstable reporter with a history of self harm as she returns to her hometown to investigate the murders of two young girls. A promising premise for a dark tale. Sharp Objects stars Amy Adams who has since won multiple best actress awards for her performance in this project.
As all the other options tied in a black hole of mediocrity I bring you a write in, You. Having started out on Lifetime You has since been snatched up by Netflix and greenlit for a second season. The psychological thriller follows Joe Goldberg a New York City bookstore manager as he falls into an obsessive bastardisation of love with one of his customers Guinevere Beck. Penn Badgley who portrays the mentally unhinged Joe has been hailed as “2018’s Best TV Villain” and with an expected 40 million viewers by the end of january it’s position as a fan favourite will not be denied.
